Future Ready: Rethinking Climate, Resilience and Sustainability

To meet the grand challenges facing organizations and the world today, we need to rethink everything, from the ways we plan, design and engineer the built environment to the energy powering our lives. The big question is how.

This Infrastructure Week roundtable will surface answers from leaders on the front lines of sustainability and resilience, generating urgently needed insights into the unprecedented transformation already underway. The session will explore ways that pioneering organizations are meeting the moment by determining the "right" project at the "right" time, executed in the "right" way to deliver the greatest possible impact and return on investment.

The conversation will cover barriers and best practices at every stage of the sustainability journey, the critical linkages with resilience, and pivotal issues of stakeholder engagement and financing.

Being held live in WSP’s NYC offices, this event is designed to complement the nearby UN General Assembly meeting on the Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, taking a global view on issues of sustainability and resilience.

We also will celebrate the launch of WSP’s new book, "Future Ready: Your Organization's Guide to Rethinking Climate, Resilience, and Sustainability." Published by Wiley, the book provides an in-depth look at issues relevant to the roundtable, including ways to align climate and resilience priorities with core business and organizational goals. Co-author, Alastair MacGregor, who heads WSP USA’s Property and Buildings business, will serve as roundtable moderator.
